Tracy loves to laugh and have fun. In fact, fun is the word her friends would use to describe her.
“I love hanging out with family and friends. My husband and I host of a lot of impromptu gatherings at our house.” She shared. “Everyone loves to come over!”
Tracy, her husband, and her son are avid football fans, to say the least. Football season is very exciting and is filled with food, drinks, parties, and tailgating. Her husband was a QB when they dated in college and seven years ago, they ran into each other again and got married three years later. They even planned their wedding around football season! Tracy’s love for football started young.
“I grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina and on Saturday’s in our household, every radio in the house was blasting the game. The game has always been with me and it just stayed with me.”
Tracy’s love for the game includes her enjoyment of watching the strategy behind different plays and good offense. She also loves the excitement and, of course, the social aspect!
In addition to her love for football, Tracy loves to spend time with her son, and geek out over superheroes and their love of Harry Potter.
“We go to ALL the DC Comic movies and Harry Potter films. We like to go on vacation in Florida at least once a year and go to Universal.” Tracy shared.
Tracy has worked extremely hard to be able to live a beautiful life in which she is constantly giving back to others.
“My dream was to earn a Master’s degree in the field of special education (birth to early childhood), but the money just wasn’t there. However, I never stopped believing that this dream could be real,” she shared.
“Needless to say, a door of opportunity opened at George Washington University that allowed me to earn a Master’s degree in Infant Special Education at absolutely no cost to me! Within six months of graduating, I found a job that more than doubled my income! I had a dream of being able to provide a better quality of life for my family and grow in my career, and it happened.”
Tracy now works with children from birth to three years old with developmental disabilities. She loves having the ability to help others for her job.
“I love helping families face and overcome challenges,” she shared.
Between socializing with others, and a career helping others, she does need time to recharge and take time to relax and be creative. In her solo time, she enjoys writing poetry, coloring, reading and TV binging.
Tracy’s story is one that inspires us to laugh, celebrate our time together and constantly give back to others. It’s also one that demonstrates that if you have a dream for the life you want to live, and you believe in it and work hard to make it happen, anything is possible.
We are so blessed to have Tracy as one of our Heartfelt Role Models!
